We met each other playing board games in 2017.

Eric was working at Instagram with top creators and saw how they struggled to manage their finances. Will was running an investment fund and previously worked at Goldman Sachs.

We built Karat because in 2019, top creators like Ludwig and Alex Botez couldn't get approved for reasonable credit limits (they had great credit scores and were killing it on YouTube but traditional banks thought their businesses were "risky.")

What started as extending credit to creators has now grown to a whole platform of financial tools and products for entrepreneurs and enterprises in the creator economy and beyond. We feel super privileged to now support thousands of creators with Karat as the one stop shop.
