Editing Tips from Mr Beast's Editor:
- • The first 5 seconds are CRUCIAL. You need a hook that gives the viewer a reason to continue watching. Not just an attention grabber. A REASON to watch.
- • Pattern interrupts - if there’s a lull in your video, add something surprising - a B roll clip, a sound effect, a text overlay. Don’t let your viewers get bored.
- • Don’t be afraid of silence. If a moment is important, let it breathe. Silence draws attention to a moment.
- • Re-watch your videos and ruthlessly cut. Every second must add value. If a clip doesn’t add anything, it goes.
- • Storyboard before you shoot. Know what you want to say and how you want to say it before you start rolling.
- • The best editors are the ones who understand storytelling, not just technical editing skills. Think about narrative arc and emotional journey.
TikTok Ban - What to Do:
- • Don’t panic - use TikTok while you still can. The app may come back.
- • Diversify your content across multiple platforms NOW, before a potential ban hits.
- • Build an email list. This is the only audience you truly own. Start today if you haven’t.
- • Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts are the most similar to TikTok. Prioritize these if you’re migrating.
- • Download your TikTok data so you have your content archive. Go to Settings > Privacy > Personalization and Data.
