How Youshaei Studios Never Goes Without a Brand Deal
This week in our Discord Community we interviewed Amanda Marcovitch, the COO of Youshaei Studios. She’s the wife of creator Jon Youshaei and heads all things partnerships, business management, and invoicing for the channel.

This conversation was insanely valuable. (The replay is inside the Discord.)
In the 2.5 years the channel has existed, Amanda has sold an ad slot on every single video.
Up to 35% of their brand deals come from outbound. She estimates that she sends around 100 emails per week. Here’s her general approach to outbound:
• Look at competitors. What brands are working with similar channels?
• Who’s the influencer marketing manager there?
• Write a custom pitch.
• Be flexible on pricing. Find a way to make their budget work with a deliverable you can offer, without going too low.

TikTok Ban Update
TikTok continues to defend itself in court. Their latest strategy? Bringing up other Chinese platforms like Shein and Temu.
TikTok still has until January 19th to sell the platform or shut it down in the US. They’re continuing to fight back against this bill in court, largely on the argument that the bill violates First Amendment rights of Americans.
In their latest court appearance, they claimed that other sites have just as much data, if not more, than what TikTok has. While they didn’t name-drop in court, prior documents referenced Shein and Temu.
It’s an interesting approach.
The goal is to question why TikTok specifically should be banned if there are other Chinese-owned platforms that collect just as much data.
Some law professionals have said it’s a valid strategy. One law professor specifically said a law can be considered unconstitutional “if the law hinges on solving a particular problem, does so in an extremely limited way, and leaves the law unsolved.”
But the judge didn’t seem to think the same. The judge claimed that the law includes a “category of companies” not just TikTok.

TikTok One Program Application
I recently saw a video from Sydney McDonald—a UGC and content creator who also mentors aspiring creators. She makes anywhere from $50k-$60k/month through the TTCC program—TikTok’s Creative Challenge.
This program is being rebranded to TikTok One (or TTO for short).
So far, here’s what we know:
• There will be both UGC and brand deal opportunities in this program.
• It’s still in beta, but getting in early could be the key.
• To apply, you need:
• Be age 18+
• Be located in the US
Here’s the application.
We don’t know much else at the moment, but will keep ya posted.
